With the news of cancelled Lilith dates and my current progress in the studio, we've made the decision not to tour this summer. I'm going to miss seeing y'all, but I hope that when you hear what we’ve been working on, you’ll be as excited as I am. I’ve been working with some amazing people and am stoked about this next album!

Hey y'all!!

This weekend I sang with my friend Chris Daughtry in Nashville, TN. Some of the proceeds from the show went to help the flood victims here in TN. It was an awesome night!! Brad Arnold (3 Doors Down) also came and sang with Daughtry...and man, they sounded great! Also, I was able to see the band "Lifehouse" for the first time and they were so awesome--seriously--all the guys and their wives were really cool too! All in all it was a fun night and for a good cause :) Below are some some pics of the night...

Hey guys! I celebrated my 28th birthday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and it was AWESOME!! My band and crew threw a surprise party for me complete with a sunflower cake, celebrity impersonators & lots of dancing! Here are some pictures I thought I'd share with ya'll. So ...my morning began with finding out that I am all over billboards, tv ads, and other media formats along side a tobacco company who unbeknownst to me is sponsoring my Jakarta date on my current tour. I was not made aware of this and am in no way an advocate or an ambassador for youth smoking. I'm not even a smoker, nor have I ever been. Unfortunately, my only option at this point was to cancel the show in order to stop the sponsorship. However, I can't justify penalizing my fans for someone else's oversight. This is a lose-lose situation for me and I am not happy about it but the damage has been done and I refuse to cancel on my fans. I think the hardest part of situations like this is getting personally attacked for something I was completely unaware of and being used as some kind of political pawn.

Wow .....Dear Scott Borchetta,

I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why it's upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit 'the high notes'. Thank you for that 'Captain Obvious' sense of humor because you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the 'right' notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better. I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is "I'll kick butt next time" or "every performance isn't going to be perfect" ......I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your 'humble' opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won't go according to plan or work out and that's okay.

So I promised some people that I would try out twitter this year. I have been avoiding it like the black plague but I will try it out :) It's not that I'm against twitter or blogging. I just can't fathom why anyone would care enough about what I have to say ....BUT what I find annoying/ridiculous/really sad for humanity is when people pretend that they're me on all these different sites. I mean, seriously?! What kind of pathetic person goes around impersonating other people and having full on conversations as if they have somehow coached themselves into thinking they are actually me. I promise all of you, I'm not that interesting. If you want to impersonate someone, aim higher for the love of all that is holy :) I just twittered for the first time today and just so everyone knows, my 'real' twitter is 'kelly_clarkson'. twitter.com/kelly_clarkson

On a completely separate note, I went to the Cowboys game today at the new stadium and had a lot of fun with my mom, sis, and a few friends. I don't know why I said Cowboys game in that last sentence ...what I should have said was "I went to the Eagles massacre today" because they didn't even score! That's really sad. hahaha GO COWBOYS!!!!
