Lilith Tour Update

With the news of cancelled Lilith dates and my current progress in the studio, we've made the decision not to tour this summer. I'm going to miss seeing y'all, but I hope that when you hear what we’ve been working on, you’ll be as excited as I am. I’ve been working with some amazing people and am stoked about this next album!

I can't believe it took you this long to make this announcement. I spent good money on tickets and it was because you were going to be there performing, what a waste of money!!! So this is how you treat your dedicated fans by canceling a tour that they cant even get refunds on. the show is in philadelphia and they added some unknown people to the list.

Excited to hear new albumn but am disappointed! I'm actually traveling across country to attend one of the shows that Kelly was supposed to be attending. Now it's several people that I'm not fans of... I'm shocked of news 2 weeks before concert date :( Not impressed!

I was travelling across the country to hit a lilith fair stop that Kelly was going to be at, even forgoing the lilith stop in my own city (which Kelly has cancelled 2 previous concerts at in the last 3 years!!!!). Trying to focus on the artistry, but being blinded by this disappointment!!!!!

Wow this album's coming along fast...good to hear KC! Sometimes you gotta make a decision that's best for you. With Lilith already cancelling many of her dates, I can understand pulling out of the rest. I think Miranda Lambert has pulled out of a few, as well as some other artists. The entire organization of this event is a mess. Don't blame the artists, blame the organizers.

Wow tough year for concert-goers. Kelly sure hope you tour next and to those who bought tickets to see you I hope Kelly takes care of you. This is the second year in a row we have had our hopes of seeing Kelly dashed!

I agree... I hope everyone that did buy tickets deserves to be taken care of when KC does tour next. Some of us are extremely loyal fans ... and I was traveling across country specifically for KC. It's a bit of a slap in the face and regardless whose fault it was that KC is no longer performing at Lilith, I feel that it is up to her and her management to make things right!

I'm really excited about the new album, but am even more bummed that my 3 friends and I scheduled days off from work just to see you play at Lilith Fair in Philly. Sarah McLachlan and Sara Bareilles are lovely consolations, but they aren't enough to keep us from ditching our tickets. So a big "THANKS" goes to the event organizers who dashed our hopes of an amazing concert. Kelly, good luck with the new cd - I can't wait to hear it! Hope to see you around this way again real soon.

I as well am upset of the news that Kelly is no longer at Lilith. I am now stuck with tickets that I no longer want because I purchased tickets solely to see Kelly. At the moment, I am more upset by the fact I will no be refunded for these unwanted tickets ($800) than I am of not seeing Kelly again, because she does deserve the time to focus on her album. With that said, good luck Kelly on your new album and I am looking forward to it :)

If you're going to rip someone for something that isn't his/her fault, at least have the guts to post your name and quit hiding behind anonymous postings. Something tells me a few of the anonymous commenters are the same person anyhow lol. Grow up, find some common sense and quit hiding behind a computer screen. This tour was doomed from day one. Too high of ticket prices, too large of venues, too many random artists instead of a consistent lineup and too many years between the last Lilith. Wouldn't surprise me to see more (and possibly the rest) of the shows cancelled. Crap happens...deal with it.

More than likey the reason Kelly had to pull out of Lilith was due to Lilith's unorganization and poor ticket sales. kelly isn't the only one. Miranda, Norah and a few others too. I think kelly just doesn't want to place blame on Lilith, so she's taking the heat. So why not lay off on giving it to her.

Understandable to pull out of Lilith as bad as it was turning out. No blame there but it would have been super nice to have even the tiniest bit of sympathy for the fans that paid hard earned money to see you Kelly. Just a tiny mention of that to show your awareness of the situation would have gone a long way. Yeah we're excited for your next album but it kinda sucks to be us right now.

Kelly,
I am a huge fan of yours honestly but now I am really upset. I spent 200 dollars just to see you at Lilith. It would have been my fourth concert to see you at. I even joined the KC fan club in hopes to win a meet and greet and now that chance is completely ruined. I am really disappointed, but you're new album will be great and I will still remain a fan. All the "anonymous" people need to chill out and realize that this isn't Kelly's fault...it is obviously Lilith Fair's UNBELIEVABLE disorganization and greed. They charged unreasonable amounts for tickets, the tickets didn't sell, they started to cancel shows, and now artists are pulling out because this is the way they make a LIVING (like you and I) and if their gig isn't paying anymore, they can't do it. If you were asked to go in to work for a few months with no pay, would you? Doubt it. Yes it does suck that everyone bought tickets just to see Kelly, but life happens, and Kelly is one of the best artist out there when it comes to respecting their fans...she has made up shows for free in the past because she felt she wasn't 100%...so as unfortunate as this situation may be, there will be much better days to come with Kelly.

it's not her fault that the organizers decided to post the canceled shows now. there's probably no point in doing them, when on the site it said she was scheduled for one. how can you yell at her? that's not fair.

My guess is Lilith turned down tobacco support because they didn't want to advertise smoking to their mostly women audience (a highly sought after target group by big tobacco), and now the whole tour is being torpedoed because of this. I hope they go on (and yes, I agree they can stand for better organization, but that's how it goes when you don't have millions in support from big tobacco), and I hope they don't stoop to big tobacco support in an effort to save the tour in the end. As for Kelly, I am more relieved than not, to be honest. I am not really trusting all these supposed fans that supposedly "fly across the country" just to see her. Who the hell (who isn't a big tobacco, bought and paid for professional KC harasser) does that anyway? (Okay, so I'm being a bit facetious and taking the Fifth on that last comment LOL -- onward...)

And remember, that's Dr. Crazy Nutjob to you.

I'm posting as anonymous because I don't have an ID, but I just wanted to say that I'm really disappointed you won't be in Minneapolis. Your concert was also canceled here last year because you were sick (which I totally understand), but now two years in a row Ticketmaster will be keeping some of my money. They return the ticket prices but not the processing fees. To be honest after getting burned two years in a row I won't be buying tickets next time you're in town. Here's hoping your album is really awesome to make up for not getting to see you once again this year.

Minnesota, and especially Minneapolis, is a place that has been creeping me out a lot in the last few years, and I have even written an entire essay titled, "Minnesota Funny Business" that I have posted on my commenting blog at USAToday (http://tinyurl.com/6x56ok). KC's history with Minneapolis for the last two scheduled concerts is no exception.

I remember last year there were all these weird, creepy rumors that the JAGMA (Jealous and Angry Gay Man Army) was putting out all over the Internet (with their hoards of fake accounts) about Kelly supposedly dying in Minneapolis by supposedly "overdosing on diet pills" -- and this BS started up *before* Kelly's concert in Minneapolis. It was as if there was some creepy murder plot planned against Kelly in Minneapolis that somehow failed, but the creepy JAGMA asswipes forgot to call off the online JAGMA rumor mill.

So the fact that creepy angry gay man annechantal (and I am just going to go ahead and guess he has posted every "anonymous" comment here) appears to be mostly disappointed in the Minneapolis cancellation this time around is only creeping me out all the more, especially considering it looks like creepy angry gay man annechantal got advanced notice (probably from highly suspected creepy angry gay man Tim Putnam) that this blog was being posted by KC.

So I was ecstatic when Kelly first pulled out of the Minneapolis Lilith alone, then I was disappointed when Kelly later pulled out of the entire tour, and now I am back to ecstatic all around. There is just way WAY too much funny business for comfort. I still hope the rest of the tour goes on, and I am glad that Ticketmaster appears to be giving partial refunds to the KC canceled shows, but seeing that Kelly seems to be specifically targeted by tobacco supported JAGMA asswipes -- and seeing that I am really not trusting any of the security, screening for meet and greets, etc. for KC on this tour in particular (is it true that anybody can just pay $800 to meet Kelly and have access to her at a Lilith concert -- not sure), ecstatic it is and ecstatic it will stay until further notice...

And remember -- that's Dr. Crazy Nutjob to you.

Please stop complaining... In the first place, did the ticket said 'Kelly Clarkson Concert 2010' or 'Lilith Fair'? Get the fact right folks, the ticket too did not stated that Kelly's performance guranteed... And would you rather see her and have her have her next album a worse one? Or would you prefer not to see her, but see her next album a more succesful one, breaking records (#99 - #1!), so that she will tour at more cities and maybe get to see a better, and all-kelly-clarkson concert? Chose wisely folks...

What is important to remember here folks, is that we don't have all of the facts. Before jumping the gun and assuming it is Kelly's personal fault for her cancelled dates, wait and see if some other information is released as far as who made the decision.

On top of that, the tour, as someone else has previous stated, was doomed from the start. The ticket prices were QUITE ridiculous and the target audience was very skewed. Every date had such a different mix of artists it was hard to keep straight what type of "show" you were going ot get. Could you really see the biggest Rhianna fan willingly paying $250+ to see only a 50 minute set then be told to sit and listen to Courtyard Hounds. Back in the 90's, the tour artists seemed to mesh, and make sense to be touring together. I'm all for variety but some cities simply didn't have the artists that pulled in the big bucks.

Keep in mind as well that Kelly isn't the only artist that has decided to pull out from the show in some way. Do some research and discover that due to low ticket sales, cities and artists originally planned for this tour are disappearing left and right. It's really sad and disappointing.

Money talks in this industry, as Kelly has been willing to share with us before. Sometimes things are out of HER own hands and she has to agree to make really difficult decisions and disappoint some fans. The economy is rough right now. The music industry will point wherever the money making option is, regardless of how their artists feel about it or how the fans react.

I'm sympathetic to those of you who did spend any dollar amount to see Kelly perform at Lilith Fair. Truly. I sincerely hope that you continue to follow Kelly's career and choose to see her live again. There really is absolutely nothing like it.

let's just chill out everyone. yes, kelly has pulled out of lilith. and yes, i bought tickets just to see her, as many of you did as well. but things happen. i live in minneapolis, along with a few of the other posters, and am bummed that i am going to miss seeing kelly two years in a row. but that's not her fault; last year she was sick. no one expects people with "normal" day jobs to go and sit at their desk when they are ill, let alone perform for two hours. kelly gave us a full refund AND let us see eric hutchinson for free. that was pretty damn nice of her if you ask me. as for lilith, again, not kelly's fault. alot of other artists have pulled out as well, and ticket sales are nothing like they expected. the only thing that really disappoints me is how some of the minnesota fans are reacting. what happened to our "minnesota nice"? why are we not taking what kelly says at face value and leaving it at that? seems to me she has always been very good to her fans, including minnesota. so, come on, mn. lets regroup and support kelly in her decisions. we don't want the poor judgement of a few to tarnish the reputation of the whole state.

(steps down off soapbox)

kelly-- don't know if you read these comments or not, but mn loves you! sorry we don't get to see you this year, but i can't wait for the album. hope you are well and enjoying your time in the studio!

I agree. It's terrible when anyone has to cancel a tour...especially someone like Kelly who LOVES TOURING. We don't know for sure the reasons behind it, so before you throw YOUR idol under the bus, give her the benefit of the doubt and be proud of her for putting out her 5th album. Not many artists hang around this long. Let her continue to make incredible music. There will be more music and tours to come. Make the best of a disappointing situation. Stand by Kelly, (if youre a true fan) don't desert her over something that probably wasn't her choice. Can't wait for the new music!

I'm incredibly disappointed you won't be at the Cleveland Lilith show, Kelly. I totally understand your choice, I'd probably do the same thing if I found out I was involved with something as haphazard, disorganized, and disrespectful to fans as Lilith Fair has been this year. What started out as something huge and exciting for people who remember the wonderful Fair of the late 90s, the 2010 Lilith has been nothing but sucker punch after sucker punch. I paid $280+ for a ticket that is now on Ticketmaster for $77 because they realized too late that greedily overcharging your fans isn't the best way to fill seats.

If Ticketmaster doesn't refund for the changed lineups (and even if they do, I'm pretty sure they don't return the $26 in service fees no matter what, so that's just lost for a concert I don't even get to see), I still plan to go to the show and have a good time.

I think what I'm most sad about, Kelly, is that this would have been a really awesome experience for you and your fans. Something totally different than anything you've done before. It's awful thinking of the missed duets, gained fans, and experiences this tour would have brought.

I trust your ability to make the right choice here, I'm just incredibly gutted by the last six months of abuse by Lilith Fair in general.

Oh Kelly - backing out of Lilith really doesn't fit with the impression I had of you as a person. Yes, Lilith apparently isn't what you expected. But without you, it now isn't what WE expected. The unfair part is that while you could back out, we can't. Our tickets (for instance for the Boston show) aren't refundable. For some of us, spending that money, just to see you, was really difficult to come by. I really wish you weren't letting down your fans like this.

it sucks that the cancellations of these tour dates prompted you to cancel your overall appearance with the tour, however, it makes logical sense to concentrate on your album than to plan for a tour that might prove unsuccessful in the long run.

How can anyone be upset with you for deciding it's better for you to commit to recording your fifth album than it is to wait around and see if additional dates for Lilith Fair will be cancelled?

that seems pretty unreasonable IMO. Also, don't blame Kelly because you were an idiot and paid WAY above market value for tickets to a concert. She didn't ask you to do that and she's not responsible for the no-refund policy either.

It's funny how all these "anonymous" fans are so hurt by this decision of Kelly to cancel her appearance at a GROUP concert. She wasn't the only artist on the bill nor was she ever billed as the headliner.

Kelly, your true fans understand your reasons for making this decision. You're in the process of recording your fifth (and hopefully final album with RCA)and if you take the summer off from touring that means you could release the album on time or earlier than you expected.

Rock on Kel... been a fan since you first stepped on the idol stage, still a fan, will always be a fan.

I bought Lilith tickets for Chicago primarily because of Kelly (and to a lesser extent Vita Chambers, LaRoux and Mary J. Blige) and am so bloody annoyed that Kelly pulled out. It is rather sad to me that two of the biggest acts (Norah and Kelly) pulled out and honestly, it is a slap in the face to fans.

The new album may be a valid excuse but the timing, the numerous cancellations of other Lilith dates make it seem fishy. The crazy thing is that almost all of the shows Kelly was supposed to play at are still going on. I believe that Montreal is the only one.

Sickness is a valid excuse. A death in the family sure. Why join up in the first place if you are only going to pull out 2 weeks beforehand because of "work issues"? Did you not already have some preconceived notion that you may have some conflict? Why bother getting people excited just to bail. It's a slap in the face to your fans. The ones who BUY your music and make you the success that you are. I have been reading up on a variety of message boards and people are beyond pissed that Kelly pulled out. Kelly was arguably the biggest headliner on the tour. It's a shame.

July 2, 2010 at 2:18 PM
OpenID silencefound said...

The fact of the matter is Kelly doesn't NEED an excuse to pull out of a concert that has multiple acts billed on the ticket. She is ONE performer among many. The tour isn't resting on her shoulders, although to hear those on this site it certainly appears that way.

Curious where all these "fans" were in 2007 when Kelly had to cancel her own summer tour due to low ticket sales. Were you outraged then too? *eye roll*

Take Back This City: for you to say Kelly was the biggest headliner of the tour is laughable, not with Norah Jones, Mary J. Blige and other artist on the roster too. Kelly hasn't toured in a venue over a 3,000 capacity since her Addicted tour in 06 so I think you are confusing Breakaway Kelly with All I ever wanted Kelly.

She isn't the "in" pop diva she once was and while she can still draw a nice response she's hardly in a position to carry an entire tour of that magnitude on her own.

I had no intention of going to Lilth because Kelly was the only artist I'd want to see and I'm not about to spend an entire day listening to artists I don't care for just to get a 20 or 30 min set from Kelly, even though it would be a fantastic 20 or 30 min set.

All this faux outrage is bizarre to me and seems a bit OTT and uncalled for given the circumstances surrounded this entire tour and the fact that kelly isn't the only artist who has pulled out.

My issue, plain and simple is the fact that Norah and Kelly pulled out after dates started getting cancelled. I am all for "if you commit to something, commit to it" unless you are ill or someone dies. Easy as that.

I did not say that she was the biggest headliner. I said two of the biggest acts....meaning Norah and Kelly. Mary J and Sarah are easily up there with them. I am very disappointed but am still going to go because of the artists still playing that I mentioned above.

Furthermore, silencefound, you should learn to read posts THOROUGHLY. There is nothing worse than an individual commenting on a post while completely missing what they wrote out in plain english.

Common sense tells you that if tickets don't sell, the Lilith Fair head honchos can't afford to pay their artists properly. Therefore, all of the hard working band members and crew can't get their fair share of pay. Would YOU honestly leave your families for weeks to go to work all over the country and not get paid? I'm sure that answer is a no.

If Kelly doesn't get paid, the big guys in the city skyscrapers don't get paid and we all know how important THEY are.*eye roll*

wow. I'm blown away. I spent SO much money on lilith tickets just because Kelly was in the lineup. I feel so confUSED. The shows she's dropped out of were mostly the ones that had good sales (e.g. Toronto). I've been to lots of her shows but now honestly she's just coming across like another spoiled artist. Poor communication...great marketing from Kelly's handlers to get me to buy tickets to Lilith. Extremely poor communication to let me know that the several hundred bucks I spent is all for not. Pathetic really. I wonder if she even knows how much people have spent to see her...none of which is refundable. In a better world someone would feel bad for us and find a way for us to be compensate. I really thought Kelly was different. I guess not...

I'm so pissed at this fan club because I also got screwed last year when I went to the concert at the Trump Taj in Atlantic City and there was no presale. This fan club can kiss my @$%! Kelly needs to grow up and stop complaining, why doesnt she try being homeless for a week and see how she feels? And all you stupid people defend her like you know her are you married to her or something? Realize shes only an entertainer and really dosen't give a damn about you !!- Jackie

This was posted in Entertainment weekly, and the bottm paragraph says it all. Once they started to cancel dates, it probably wasn't going to profit enough to take her whole crew on the road. Even though the cancelations weren't all from shows Kelly was in, it still affects how they pay the artists. It just didn't affect Kelly, Norah Jones, Miranda Lambert canceled too. Some of you need to grow up..sh*t happens:. Here is the article/interview:

Entertainment Weekly: There had been some speculation that the shows you cancelled yesterday had been cancelled for a while, at least according to Norah Jones’ manager.
Terry McBride: No, see, this is where the press creates its own situation. Some of the media in Calgary said the Calgary show was cancelled, and then the media promptly got on Lilith because there was about an hour and a half line to get into the venue. The venue, having read the press, thought no one was going to show up, so they’d cut back on staff. So the media is sitting there criticizing Lilith for having long lines, that they themselves created. So I just sit there and go, Unless Lilith Fair says something is cancelled, it’s not cancelled. But if the media says it, it becomes truth.
Then what was the truth? When were those dates cancelled?
We had let certain camps know that we were looking at cancelling shows. Just as a heads up. It’s the professional, polite thing to do. Hey, you might want to look at other options. These shows are not cancelled yet, but we’re looking at them on a daily basis. So rather than just catching everyone by surprise, we were very professional about it. So then a journalist goes in there thinking she’s being an investigative reporter, and ultimately comes out and says these shows are cancelled, which they’re not. Probably the most bizarre thing for us is that some of those shows, the ticket sales were actually quite brisk. Then that news story gets picked up by the local media as truth, and ticket sales just stopped.

This got cut off of that article^, the part about Kelly:

Did that same message go out to the Kelly Clarkson camp, that her shows were at risk, or did she pull out for an independent reason?
Again, we were frank with everybody. The thing is, because of the way that Lilith is structured, if Kelly’s on for a number of dates and then she loses some of those, it might not make sense for her to do the rest of the dates, just economically. It’s kind of the nature of Lilith.

I think the problem started when an all-female tour decided to place trust of the entire operation in the hands of a woman-hating gay man by the name of Terry McBride. Blaming a "female reporter" for any and all problems that happened in Calgary? Are you friggin serious?

Gay, gay, gay.

And if anything, the purported "female reporter" was probably another angry gay man posing as a female reporter online to begin with, if this story is even remotely true -- sort of like our very own creepy angry gay man annechantal. LOL

"Spreading like a cancer I will die and take you all with me."
The tobacco supported JAGMA (Jealous and Angry Gay Man Army) is losing power right and left and appears to be imploding, which is a good thing, but you better believe they aren't going to fall without trying to take everything and anything in their path with them. For this reason, I remain ecstatic that KC pulled out of Lilith, regardless of what the real reason is.

I think Lilith will be okay, but if they decide to do it again in the future, I highly recommend avoiding the angry gay man control-freaks next time around. Angry gay men don't hate men the way they resent and hate women, and angry gay men can't control men as easily as women, so they concentrate all their energies on controlling and resenting women at the same time. Angry gay men especially love the part where they get to torpedo any woman who "steps out of line" -- like the way Kelly does on a regular basis. So it only makes sense that angry gay men be all over Lilith like a venereal disease. It's the same theory that says that jobs that involve children attract pedophiles.

Jackie, I am with you!!! Kelly should have thought of her fans and moved her concert to a smaller venue, if lack of ticket sales was the problem. However, instead of thinking of her fans, she thought solely and ONLY solely of herself. Obviously the money is more importat than your fans!! You are a selfish, stuck up b#@*$! Maybe you SHOULD go into acting, because you do a good job ACTING like you give a sh@# about your fans! You just treated your fans the same crappy way you have been dumped on in the past . . . . haven't you learned a da@# thing! I know $ is not an object to you, but have some respect for others! Kelly you are going to lose a crap load of fans because of this. So you go right ahead and keep cancelling concerts left and right. Hope you like singing to your da@% farm animals, because that is all you will have left in the end. And way too STOMP on a lot of children's hearts who have spent hours listening to your music . . . don't know how you sleep at night. You are such a "great" role model. I understand you're all angry about losing money, but this isn't Kellys fault, you all know how much she hates cancelling concerts, I imagine it to tear her apart inside.

Not pointing the finger at anyone, but after some of the comments I'm read, I don't understand how you had the ability to call yourself Kelly Clarkson fans in the first place, the way you quickly turned your back and slated her for something that wasn't her fault. Pathetic.

With that being said, can't wait for your new album Kelly! Looking forward to hearing the new material, I'm sure it's gonna be awesome, as always. We love you, and we, most, of us know how much your fans mean to you, and we won't turn our backs on you.. ;D.

@JerseyGirl5, how the hell is Kelly supposed to move her concert to a smaller venue? Do you even know what Lilith Fair is? It's freaking Woodstock on an estrogen overdose. Kelly could no more move the concert to a smaller venue than she can control what dates the heads of LF decide to cancel. She's a goc in the machine, and not a very important one.

Kelly, good for you for backing out of what sounds like a truly huge cluster of a tour. Good luck on your album and I look forward to buying it.

@fallinangelz21, Were you on "crack" when you responded to my message! You just totally contradicted yourself! First you are saying LF CANCELED Kelly's concerts, then you go on to praise Kelly for BACKING OUT of the tour. Which is it, did LF CANCEL her or did Kelly BACKOUT?! You make NO sense! And LF DID NOT PULL Kelly out of the Philadelphia concert! KELLY PULLED HERSELF OUT! The rest of the performers (who I never even heard of) are still performing! That means NO REFUNDS! SO GET YOUR F'ING FACTS STRAIGHT! KELLY SCREWED OVER A LOT OF PEOPLE! SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HECK OF A LOT MORE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT! SHE JUST LOST A LOT OF FANS. WHAT A SHAME. SHE LET DOWN A LOT OF PEOPLE. SHE SEEMS TO CANCEL A LOT OF HER CONCERTS. ANYONE WHO IS A FAN, I WOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BUYING TICKETS TO SEE HER PERFORM, ESPECIALLY AFTER THIS STUNT. GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU KC FANS.

For the record, I'm guessing about 95% of the posts here, good and bad, are probably from the same creepy angry gay man (annechantal), anonymous or not. Putting a random name down on a fake account instead of "anonymous" doesn't make the comment any less anonymous -- and it doesn't make annechantal any less of a tobacco supported asswiping control freak.

Tim Putnam (who seems to control most of Kelly's online presence and is most likely the source of her leaks, IMHO) loves the extra attention annechantal pays to his web site, and that's why he (and many other online sites that depend on traffic -- especially entertainment news sites like Entertainment Weekly, aka, Angry Gay Man Central, Tobacco Times, Asswipe Alley, etc. LOL) purposely choose to put Kelly (and many other female celebrities) in danger by kissing angry gay man annechantal ass whenever possible. I don't like the set up at all, but I am thinking it is a necessary evil for now until we can get more women into top level computing jobs - and also more non-tobacco controlled women and non-gay men into positions of power in the entertainment industry.

That being said, there may be some interesting arguments here as long as it is clear that it is all probably being presented pretty much by one creepy angry gay man who goes by the name of annechantal and who is in turn most likely being controlled (and financially supported) by big tobacco.

Happy Independent Thinking Day! :)

I agree with you 100%. I am still a fan and always will be and I don't think being upset by this makes me any less of a true fan. As far as I can tell 75% of Kelly's dates are still scheduled to go on. So is that really not economical for her an her band? So yeah they may not make as much, but I doubt their loss is to the extent of a lot of her fans. I personally didn't spend a ton($77 for two tickets pretty close), but still it's money I could've spent elsewhere. Yeah maybe some spent a lot but maybe this was there only chance to see her. Not eveyone is going to get refunded. Not to mention people are saying some artists pulled out but there are other artists who are also just changing their shows. I really hope her album comes out by the end of the year like most are assuming that are glad she pulled out, but I doubt that too. I don't think this tour would've made it any less of an album, Kelly just doesn't do that.

Why are some here so quick to believe the hateful messages are of one and the same person? Is it so hard to fathom Clarkson's abrupt and highly consequential decision angers people? I don't have a ticket, hell I don't even live in the States, and I can hardly believe how a lack of inspiriation hit her to the effect she gibbered out the poorest excuse anyone can think of. She's not suddenly the worst person in the world, but please stop sugarcoating her decision. It is not something to be proud of. You don't have to support every move she makes and you don't have to love everything she does. (Actually, you're not quite right in the head if you do.)

It's a simple fact, for many $2-300 is quite a sum compared to the financial inconvenience Clarkson will suffer by attending only a few shows and not being able to work for three days in an endlessly comfortably airconditioned studio. She made a commitment, a promise. To all the so-called understanding people here: don't let Kelly think that breaking a promise is ALL RIGHT. You make a promise, you move heaven and earth to keep it, no excuses - certainly none concerning financial or time issues. Even if it's only for the one or two shows that haven't been cancelled and only 50 people show up, or even if you lose money. You BE there!

She isn't sick, Lillith doesn't cancel on her, no other commitments make her suddenly unable to attend. Her statement gives no inclination to think her decision isn't hers and hers alone. I don't need a blueprint of her brain to comprehend the reason. Good thing I'm not her boyfriend, I'd have a talk with her about commitment. There's a definitive correlation between breaking a promise, lying and cheating. Hail the infamous words of Pat Benatar: we've got the right to be angry. You too. So relax. Have it off your chest, and move on, people.

Haven't caught Clarkson many times doing or saying stupid stuff, but be honest, this one is on a different level. Face it, there's a drawback of having an unblemished image towards your fans: the slightest hick-up can cause lasting disappointment and sometimes irreparable distrust. Because, cheating being once done...

We all know that touring is how performers make most of their money these days not by cd sales. I don't think its in your best interest to make a bad name for yourself in the touring industry, nobody will want to back you or buy your tickets for fear of you canceling again. All you have to do is take 2 weeks out of your busy schedule to make many fans happy and make your name good again....then take all the time you want to record your cd. DO THE RIGHT THING!!!

Still love and respect you Kelly, but I have to say how disappointed I am to hear this news. My daughter was given these tickets for her birthday, and invited a friend to go with her for her first solo concert ( without mom). She is so disappointed:( You were the only reason she was planning on going.

OMFG! I can't believe all you people saying 'I'm so pissed off, and I'm done being a fan' are ridiculous. You obviously never were in the first place. Like I understand that it's dissapointing yeah, but it's also completely rude to give Kelly crap for this. SHe obviously thinks it's best for the album, and you really should all trust her on that, I think she knows what she's doing. She is Kelly fkn CLarkson after all , just FYI..hah. Anyway, instead of getting all mad about ONE show that she cancelled, how about thining of everything else she has done for her fans, she is the most un selfish celebrity and does everything she can to please us. You really are acting like a bunch of inconsiderate 5 yr olds. I don't know how old you all are, but I'm 16 for gods sake and I know that you don't treat someone that has been so good to you with such disrespect! Okay, so I'm dont ranting..jut got sick of all the stupid comments. You're awesome Kel, and kickass, so stoked for the next album. I need new tunes man! Oh and btw come back to Sydney soon!! :)

I am attending lilith fair in Toronto with 4 other people, and we are truly all very frustrated with the fact that Kelly pulled out of this concert, especially two weeks before the show. She was headlining the Toronto show and was the main reason that MANY people bought tickets; honestly, it makes people wonder whether or not she was ever intending to do the show, or whether putting her name up there was just a ticket sales scam.

I don't doubt Kelly's character except in one way: Keep your commitments. Otherwise I feel that you will have a hard time keeping your fans. Most people do not enjoy being burned.

I know that I, personally, could wait for Kelly's next album... and would much have preffered to see her.

I AM PISSED! i have spent a lot of money to come and see Kelly. you were the reason i purchased the tickets. when you make a commitment it is up to you to complete the tour unless you wish to personally refund ticket money. this is a grave disappointment to your fans! i am truly disappointed in your last minute withdraw. i want my money back for the ticket and cant get it.
way to go kelly!

I'm really upset. I bought tickets for the Lilith Fair just to see you, and you cancelled. Now LiveNation won't refund the tickets because the actual tour didn't cancel - only you did. I understand that this concert series seems very unorganized, but you shouldn't put your name on something that you don't plan to follow through on. Look how many of your fans have posted on here because they wasted their money so they could see you, and you backed out. Shame on you.

Well, I guess I didn't get any takers on the first round, so let's try this again. If any (creepy angry gay man annechantal fake accounts?) listed here can post a picture of their Lilith ticket or a receipt for their Lilith ticket on their account, I will buy it from them at full price. Thanks.

PS -- Hey, Tim Putnam of MCN, you know you would prolly get a lot more real comments from real KC fans over time if you would stop encouraging your buddy, that fuckheaded asswiping woman hating piece of angry gay man shit by the name of annechantal, from polluting this site with fake comments that you know are all coming from the same person just so that this site looks like it is getting a lot of traffic. #Imjustsayin...

PPS -- I'm not saying people don't have a right to complain. I'm just saying I am sick of that fuckheaded asswiping woman hating piece of angry gay man shit by the name of annechantal polluting the commenting sections of KC's blogs all the time -- and prolly getting paid for it. I'm not getting paid, and I'm not doing anything for KC's benefit. I'm doing it because that is how much I can't stand fuckheaded asswiping woman hating pieces of angry gay man shits polluting online commenting sites with hoards of fake accounts all the time -- and prolly getting paid for it. Why can't I get a job like that?! It's pissing me off. LOL

So creepy angry gay man @annechantal just tweeted to @JillandKate at Twitter (as one of his fake accounts called @mikeypimpzz) with a link to an article about how bands should follow fans and tweet fans back.

Here is the tweet with the link...

RT @mikeypimpzz @jillandkate http://soundcitizen.com/10-twitter-tips-for-musicians-and-bands/

So I followed the link and posted a message there, but it is "waiting moderation," which I absolutely abhor. So if they post my message, good for them and they are trying to make the world a better place, but seeing that it is a site that is linked by creepy angry gay man @annechantal, it is most likely a TS-JAGMA run site, so I have little hope of my novel being posted there -- if any of my past experiences in not getting by "moderators" is any indication. LOL.

So here is my comment there. At least this site allows free speech. Yea for that much...

I don’t think this is the safest advice for bands right now with so many aggressive, tobacco supported fake Twitter accounts that seem to be run mostly by angry gay men, which makes sense since Twitter is based in San Francisco along with that other social networking site that is completely polluted with angry gay man fake accounts — Facebook. Both Twitter and Facebook seem to support and protect the creation and upkeep of these fake accounts, and I am guessing these social networking sites get some pretty hefty support $$$ from big tobacco for doing so. It’s all about control, and big tobacco wants to continue controlling celebrities and the entertainment business as much as possible by controlling everybody’s online presence (celebrities and real fans alike) and by controlling online entertainment news sites in their commenting sections with hoards of fake comments by fake accounts.

Most of the tips here are okay, but I am talking mostly the tips on “follow fans back” and “tweet fans back and be friends with them” parts. This is BS, and in many cases can probably get to be pretty unsafe, IMHO — that is, until and unless social networking sties such as Twitter make major changes in their polices concerning what I like to call the TS-JAGMA FAPP (The Tobacco Supported Jealous and Angry Gay Army Fake Account Protection Program).

I think anybody, but especially celebrities and mid-level celebrities (i.e., celebrities that are not considered big enough to have a certified Twitter account but are nevertheless relatively well known), should have the option of making a request to Twitter regarding certain questionable accounts that are tweeting them or making requests to be followed by them. It might be a bit much for Twitter to actually verify that the account in question has 100% accurate information in the bio or even in the name (i.e., an account with a woman’s name is actually a woman and not another angry gay man posing as a woman online, which is extremely common and probably makes up a majority of the online fake accounts), but it would be nice if Twitter would at least confirm if a questionable list of accounts all Tweet from the same location, for instance.

Ironically, I myself was linked to this site from one of many highly probable fake accounts run at Twitter by the same creepy angry gay Kelly Clarkson stalker fan by the name of @annechantal. The link was posted by one of the rare male accounts that @annechantal runs called @mikeypimpzz. I think he is supported by big tobacco, and I think he is actually dangerous to Kelly Clarkson and her entire band. I have a full list of “probable fake @annechantal accounts” that KC or any of her band members should be able to send in to Twitter and request if they are all coming from the same computer or location. Until this option is available, I don’t blame any celebrities or mid-level celebrities for not following fans or even not tweeting back to what, at the moment, is most likely a fake account fully protected by the TS-JAGMA FAPP.

wow, just wow. people paid all this money to see Kelly perform only a couple of songs during a two to three hour concert that has to fit in over a dozen artists.
these aren't Kelly concerts people, they are mixed shows, which carry a disclaimer that acts may change with or without notice (but no one ever reads fine print).
people here seem to think everyone going to LF is going just to see Kelly. The world does not center around Kelly Clarkson.
people here seem to think they know every detail of Kelly's life, and what goes on behind the scenes of every concert and event. none of you have any clue what the reasons may be for Kelly and others to pull out of remaining shows, and Kelly doesn't have to explain her reasons.
you all see Kelly as she owes you something. she doesn't. you made your choices to spend money buying albums, tickets, and merchandise. Kelly never twisted anyones arm to do so. Kelly is in a business, which involves many business decisions, some may not go over well with fans, and that sucks for fans. there's always bigger reasons for these decisions that maybe they can't disclose at this time. maybe the reasons are no one business to know
while most of you are carrying on with your tantrums like two year olds, think about decisions you might have made in the past that didn't go over well with others and you still had to make the decision no matter what others thought about it.
grow up everyone. the earth still spins, life still goes on, for every idiotic fan Kelly loses over this, she will gain two more with a brain and common sense
it's amazing how people are big fans when it suits them to be, and when things don't go exactly their way, they whimper off stomping their feet like infants

I'm happy.

After reading your posts I have a few things to share with you..

1) No matter how much you whine and cry and send her cups of your blood... things are not going to change.

2) seriously.. Lilith fair ticket sales were pretty pathetic.. I would have done the same thing and focused on putting out new music for my fans.

3) pretty sure I saw you trying to sneak backstage last year at the state fair.

4) She has been touring for a solid year.. Yea pretty sure I would want a break as well.

5) If you buy your tickets from the source, you can skip the ticket master service charges so if said concert gets canceled you can get a full refund. (like go to the box office!)

6) Seriously get a life.. stop Cyber stalking Kelly Clarkson.. Its creepy.. really creepy.

It can be listened in some 'radio stations' in my country - and, yesterday, I could 'discover' who was the GREAT VOICE/PERSON who produced it; a little 'late' (lol!)...
Mrs (or Miss!) Clarkson: I want to listen to MORE SONGS, and if you come/visit my country (why not?); who knows I watch/see your show?

Thanks so much,

I heard your song impossible once, and i thought it was pretty good, so i decided to make a dubstep remix of it. I managed to finish it, but the only thing is that i could not find an acapella version of the song at all :(
I put quite a bit of effort into doing this, and it sounds pretty good in its current state, but if there is any way that you could send a vocal track, or make an Acapella, it would make the remix amazing!
I especially need the chorus, to give the full body of your vocals.
I posted the current remix on youtube:

If you have any time, please let me know if you agree or disagree. But i'm hoping that we can work something out :D
thanks for reading this

Hi! I heard your beautifully sad song "Irvine" on Pandora today. I hope that you know that God does hear your prayers and that you are a treasure to Him! He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth to live and die and rise again so that you and all who trust in Him might know His eternal love. God bless you - Pastor Mike Michalk, Mound, MN

I'm not sure if you get to read these messages yourself, however after seeing interviews with you I am sure you do read these yourself... But I just want to say that I have loved you since you auditioned for American Idol and I honestly do love all of your music because you are an amazing artist. I would absolutely love for you to go on tour again because I would really really enjoy the chance to hear your beautiful voice live... That being said, I know you are busy but if you happen to go on tour again soon I will be there because your music really moves me. I played your music tonight actually (2/3/2011) for one of my friends that only knew your singles and it literally brought her to tears, I just wanted to share that with you. You are an amazing person and even more of an amazing singer and I wish you all the best in anything that you wish to pursue.

Best of luck in everything,
Brandon Dailey :)

Kelly, you need to get into country music full-force! You have an amazing voice, but I think the pop music is not nearly as good as the country music I have heard you sing. Your voice is angelic and I hope to hear some more country music duets soon!!

Does Kelly Clarkson twitter comments, like she recently has about Amy Whinehouse, for recognition/publicity? Or are her comments part of her therapy? Poor girl sounds really lost in her Amy Whinehouse tweet. I feel bad for Kelly.
